This map illustrates the investment area of the 42nd Avenue Neighborhood Prosperity Initiative. Properties resting within this boundary are eligible for improvement funds as determined by Our 42nd Avenue, a participatory and community-led organization. Community members recommended this investment boundary to be approved by the Portland Development Commission and Portland City Council. Together, our community created a map that includes all of the district’s eligible commercial properties in the investment area — this is the result of a collaborative effort guided by the community. The blue line indicates the NPI investment area. (download the PDF here)

Some important points to remember:
1) Only properties in commercial zones and or containing commercial uses are eligible for NPI funding. Residential properties are ineligible.
2) Minor permanent improvements to the streetscape of 42nd Avenue and district intersections may be eligible.
3) All projects funded by the NPI must be geared toward a more competitive district and must promote economic development.

I ride the bus through this area twice daily on weekdays, and look forward to hearing about improvements!
